Our friend Kim Jamieson is joining the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism as manager of public relations. We’re proud to say that Kim started her career with Chernoff Newman as an intern. In fact, she was such a great intern that we hired her as a public relations specialist after she graduated from the University of South Carolina.
Kim worked with a number of our clients and found her passion in event planning and tourism marketing.
Prior to joining SCPRT, Kim served as the director of communications for Columbia Metropolitan Convention and Visitors Bureau (Columbia CVB). During her time at the Columbia CVB, Kim garnered statewide, regional, national and international media coverage on various happenings taking place throughout the Columbia region. In three years, she successfully secured two feature pieces in the national publication Southern Living – focusing on Columbia’s Devine and Main Streets – national exposure on Columbia’s untold civil rights story through the Columbia SC 63 project, international praise for the No. 1 gated attraction in South Carolina, Riverbanks Zoo and Garden, and some 200 plus other mentions and recognitions for area restaurants, attractions, festivals, events, history, culture and cuisine.
Congratulations in your new role, Kim!
