Please join us in welcoming Chernoff Newman’s first session of summer interns– or Chernewbs as they are lovingly referred to. Each fall, spring and summer semester, we select qualified undergraduate student, graduate students or recent grads to participate in our internship program. Through our curriculum, interns gain hands-on experience in various aspects of advertising, marketing, public relations, social media, interactive development, media planning and market research.  Our interns are much more than just “go-fers” or coffee collectors, they are given the opportunity to dive into various projects and support our full-time staff while driving a ‘class project’ of their own.

For summer session one, we selected five Chernewbs to join our team. Check them out below:

P.S. make sure to follow us on Instagram as the interns will be taking over our handle throughout the summer to provide a glance behind the curtain at Chernoff Newman.

Hailing from the vibrant city of Miami, Ryan Bermudez brings his talents to Chernoff Newman as our market research intern. With a degree in public relations from the University of South Carolina, Bermudez is attracted to the research process and behind-the-scenes operations of an agency. As a four-year letterman in Track and Field for the Gamecocks, Bermudez has competed in Nationals for the past three years. Bermudez splits his focus between competing and spending time with his family, playing strategy card games and staying in-the-know in the ever-changing world of technology.

Aspiring freelance blogger and travel guru, Morgan Borkowski is our account management intern and resident fashionista. The Maryland native graduated this May from the University of South Carolina with dual degrees in advertising and fashion merchandising. When she’s not in the office, Morgan can be found country hopping or honing her black and white film photography skills in the darkroom. A woman of many talents, Borkowski has had her writing featured in Florence, Italy’s Blending Magazine among others.

Where will she go next? After her internship, Borkowski plans on moving to New York where she hopes to weave her passions for travel, fashion, and photography into her advertising career.

A Gamecock Volleyball veteran, Dessaa Legros is diving into her public relations career through her internship. Off the court, she has a spectacular sense of rhythm on the piano and shares the talent of being trilingual along with her twin sister, Annayka. Her high-energy and positive attitude literally light up the office. After her internship, Legros will continue training to play professional volleyball oversees and working towards her master’s degree in visual and digital marketing.

Hailing from Lancaster, our marketing intern Sally Mobley is in her second year of her master’s in mass communication. A Wofford College alum, Mobley has an undergraduate degree in english with a minor in business. The proud cat-mom of Ernie enjoys Nicki Minaj and honoring her southern roots with country music.

After her internship with Chernoff Newman, Mobley is interested in growing her public relations and creative experience.

As half of the Chernewbs PR-team, Catherine Savoca brings a flare of culture to the office. In just 20 years, Savoca has traveled to every continent (with the exception of Antarctica) and more than 30 countries. A strategic communications major with French and environmental studies minors at Washington and Lee University, Savoca is uniquely interested in both sustainability and public relations.

When she’s jet-setting and road-tripping, Savoca has her ‘unconventional crush’ Jimmy Buffett on replay. Where you can find her next? She hopes biking through Vietnam. Savoca plans on continuing her education with a master’s degree – plus, living in France is in on the bucket list.

We hope you enjoy learning about these brilliant people as much as we have enjoyed getting to work with them.

Check back in in July as we receive our next wave of interns for our second summer session.
