Integration is at the heart of everything we do here at the agency, where we work across disciplines to create strategic and original content with an omni-channel consumer approach. So we are excited to announce that we’ve added three new members to our digital and social media teams.

Jay Barry joined us as an Interactive Designer in January. With over 18 years of web design and development, Barry has experience working everything for the web, from fonts to front-end and design to databases. His previous experience working with a smaller digital firm allowed him to be involved in all aspects of the business including strategy, client interaction and implementation.  He will enable us to streamline our processes, improve our user experience and he understands the business side of both the client side and agency world. Jay is a lifelong resident of the Columbia area and received his degree in Media Arts from the University of South Carolina.

April Rodgers came on board in March as a PR and Social Media Specialist. With a background in corporate marketing, Rodgers spent the last few years in San Francisco developing marketing strategies for tech startups and partnering with many large consumer and tech companies on their employer branding initiatives. Most recently, April was the marketing communications manager for Jobvite, a recruitment software company. Originally from northern Minnesota, April has a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota Duluth, with a major in marketing and a minor in psychology. She loves cheering on her alma mater as they just won the NCAA men’s hockey tournament. She also tells me that they are “awesome in curling.”

Catherine Ramirez recently joined us as a Social Media and PR Specialist. With a background in news and past experience working in the public sector, Catherine brings a wide array of experience to the agency. She was the Digital Coordinator for the State Treasurer’s Office and prior to that she was the morning show producer for News19 WLTX, as well as the social media content manager. Originally from New Jersey, warm weather and Gamecock football brought Catherine to South Carolina. She was the Feature Twirler for USC, and is a former State, Regional and National Baton Twirling Champion. She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a broadcast journalism degree and a business administration minor. She is the Feature Twirler Coordinator at the University of South Carolina and coaches baton in the Midlands. If you are in our office, you may find her tossing a fiery baton in one hand while shooting social content content in the other.

We’re always looking to invest in the best people who bring their A game. People who fit the Chernoff Newman values, always strive to put clients first and excel in their disciplines and beyond. It’s been a fun 2018 so far and we can’t wait to see where our team takes our clients next.
